Burana Tower + Kegety Gorge
About This Tour
Stand where Silk Road caravans once rested. The 10th-century Burana Tower is all that remains of the lost city of Balasagun — climb its narrow ancient staircase for sweeping views, then wander among the balbals, mysterious stone warriors that have guarded this valley for a thousand years.
After history comes wilderness: Kegety Gorge, a lush forested valley of waterfalls, cliffs and rushing mountain streams, where we end the day with a picnic in the open air. One tour, two completely different worlds — travelers call it the perfect introduction to Kyrgyzstan.
